Position: Receptionist (Senior School) Job share role, part-timeDepartment: Front Desk AdministrationReports To: Senior Executive Assistant to the Head of SchoolStarting Date: July 2024Application Closing Date: June 4, 2024Salary: $22.00 - $25.00 per hourSt. George's Schools Front Desk provides many services to the St. George's community. Our Receptionists strive to provide a welcoming environment, enhance the flow of information, and give superior customer service to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Front Desk. The Receptionist provides administrative support in fostering the mission of St. George's School. This role also assists the Director of Learning with administrative work, specifically Flex Day preparation. They will embody the following core competencies: empathy, integrity, humility, respect, responsibility, and resilience.This is a job share appointment which will consist of one day per week in August, and two days per week from September onwards. The role provides coverage as needed when the other employee is on vacation, sick, etc.Responsibilities will include: Answering main switchboard calls and greeting visitors;Coordinating incoming & outgoing mail and local & international courier packages;Assisting students, staff, and parents with general requests and enquiries;Display announcements;Tracking and ordering general office supplies;Monitoring paper supplies and placing orders as needed;Supporting administrative staff with other duties as required;Training for those who provide switchboard relief;Cross-training and back-up support for the Attendance Clerk position;Supporting the Director of Learning with the organization and coordination of various educational initiatives internally;Gathering/compiling information and helping coordinate logistics for Flex Days, such as transport and room bookings, communicating information to stakeholders, preparing slides, etc.;Scheduling meetings;Reformatting & organizing school policies.Qualifications will include: Minimum 1-year reception experience;Previous experience operating a multi-line phone system;Possessing good judgment and a professional demeanor;Strong technical skills, with experience in Google Suite, Adobe, Microsoft Office;Experience using Canvas software considered an asset;Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing working environment;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;Highly-organized, efficient, and with attention to detail;Demonstrated track record of independent work along with creative and proactive problem-solving skills;Demonstrated ability to take initiative and to prioritize tasks;Ability to work as part of a team and independently;Ability to support, reinforce, and emulate the Schools six core values.Interested applicants should email a cover letter and resume to: careers@stgeorges.bc.ca
