Vision Teacher - Technology Support

School Profile:

SET-BC is a Provincial Outreach Program funded by the Ministry of Education that provides technology solutions that meet the diverse learning needs of students in B.C. SET-BC works with BC school districts and independent schools to provide a range of district, classroom and student-based services.

POSITION DETAILS: Provide technology support and the educational use of student-based technology solutions for district teams supporting students with significant and diverse learning needs, focusing on those with visual impairments

Contribute to SET-BC provincial information and training resources to help build district and program capacity to utilize assistive technology wit students with significant diverse learning needs, with a focus on visual impairments

Consult with school teams and SET-BC Educators to identify and plan for technologies to meet individual students needs and educational plans

Develop technology training and workshop materials and lead face-to-face and online sessions for district staff especially in the area of visual support technologies

Provide support to educators in the area of assistive technology, evaluate new products, develop resources and participate in new projects

Qualifications Bachelor of Education

Masters Degree in Visual Impairment

Experience in implementing specialized student-based vision technology solutions in classroom settings

Understanding of best practices in adult education with experience or interest in planning and facilitating professional learning workshops

Valid BC Drivers license and have access to a car

Ability and willingness to travel regularly in the Lower Mainland and throughout the Province Your application must include the following documents: Cover Letter
