School District No. 22 is currently accepting applications for an education assistant Level 2. This is a 27.5 hour per week / 10 month position and is temporary to June 27, 2024.

POSITION SUMMARY: Educational Assistant Level 1 - . 27.5 Hours per week plus 2.5 hours per week - 10 Month position. This position is temporary to June 27, 2024 or sooner depending on return of incumbent.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months relevant training which includes recent Okanagan College Education Assistant certificate, or equivalent education, (eg., similar to a 450 hour post-secondary EA program) including practicum experience or training in dealing with resistant students and conflict resolution.

Familiarity with current special education technology.

Possess and maintain Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Proven ability to learn and successfully use new technology and to possess literacy, numeracy, and English skills, at the secondary level.

Proven ability to develop rapport with students and work in a team setting.

Personal Care and lifting are required in this position.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.Services will not be required on In-Service and Non-Instructional Days.

30.59SHIFT: Schedule is dependent upon student needs
