Current salary Step 1: $28.72 / Step 2: $ 31.85

As of July 1, 2024, salary Step 1: 29.58 / Step 2: $32.81

Reporting to the Manager Accounting and under the daily direction and guidance of the Principal, the Accounting- Secondary is responsible for the overall accounting for the schools finances including both school generated and district held operating funds; processes the acquisition of textbooks and school purchases; and working as a member of a team to ensure the timely resolution of general school requirements, using both computerized and manual systems, in accordance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures.The full job description is available on Inside45 for internal staff. Completion of a recognized 2-year Diploma in Business Administration with a major in accounting and finance

Previous experience with accounting for and reporting on GST and PST

Good organizational, interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills

Working knowledge of office procedures and standard office equipment including Windows based office computer systems and software

Ability to analyze, interpret and use judgment in the resolution of problems

Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision

Minimum keyboarding speed of 40 wpm

Or An equivalent combination of training and experience

Desirable Qualifications and Experience: Knowledge of School District administrative software

Knowledge of School District operations

Previous experience with computerized accounting systems in a School District
