Effective immediately until return of the absent teacherThe annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.Required Qualifications and Experience
A full-time English/Social Studies (1 FTE) position consisting of English Studies 9 & 11, English First Peoples 10 and Social Justice 12 is available at Sentinel Secondary School. This position replaces a teacher that is on leave. The successful candidate must have: Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching both junior and senior Mathematics at the secondary level.
AP training and/or experience an asset.
Hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate
Knowledge of the Ministry of Education Core Competencies, Big Ideas, and Learning Standards for the appropriate curricular area
Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum.
An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners.
A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.
A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
