- Provide oral and sign language interpreting services to identified students
-Provide feedback to school administrators and the multidisciplinary team regarding student progress
-Participate in the development and implementation of the student's IEP goals in consultation with teachers, administrators, special education staff and parents/guardians
-Other duties as related to the students on caseload as determined by the Principal Qualifications:
1. Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter as recognized by the Ministry of Education and training is essential.
2. Knowledge and experience as a Sign Language Interpreter are required.
3. Proficiency and a demonstrated competency in American Sign Language is required.
4. Ability to facilitate communication between a deaf student and hearing teachers and peers in a classroom setting.
5. Ability to work as a team member.
6. Experience working with persons with special needs.
