unionized (CUPE 1348), position of Graphic Designer.Job Summary: LOCATION: Media Services Dept., Essex Civic CentrePOSITION: Graphic DesignerHOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week

START DATE: October 2024RATE OF PAY: CUPE Band 6 $33.53 to $35.13/hour

Nature & Scope of Position: Provide service to both the Greater Essex County DSB and the Windsor Essex Catholic DSB. Provide graphic design for a wide variety of promotional and communication tools aimed at both

internal and external stakeholders. Mainly schools, departments, and administration. Meet with and gather requirements for document design (digital and print) projects and complete

design projects independently with minimal guidance. Provide alternative visual and composition options/ideas for review and approval. Design or convert files for all media according to technical specs and schedules. Choose and prepare support images for layout. Ability to draw/sketch original artwork. Experience with software like Adobe Creative Suite and Corel Draw to produce communications

collateral as required. Superior layout and proofreading skills, ensuring quality control in all media production. Able to meet tight deadlines. Supervise and assist visitors using the Teacher Workshop. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Completion of a minimum two-year Diploma in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Creative Arts, or

related design field. Three (3) years of related work experience is required. Understanding latest design trends and ability to bring projects to life from concept to completion. A comprehensive and diverse portfolio of previous work showcasing creative skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

A strong knowledge of brand guidelines and web design standards. Understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act standards as they relate to print

and web design. Demonstrate a commitment to and documented success in working to create a fair, inclusive,

antiracist environment for all stakeholders, and to supporting diverse constituencies and

populations. A background in photography, video production and staging audio-visual equipment would be an
