WSD EAL Summer Enrichment Program

The Winnipeg School Division (WSD) is seeking enthusiastic instructors for the Summer English as an Additional Language (EAL) Enrichment Program. This language-rich program provides an active, engaging, and safe environment. Students learn conversational and academic language skills through environmental, situational, and classroom-based activities.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Ability to develop engaging, interdisciplinary lessons and activities.

Provide instruction and guidance to participants.

Support student learning, growth, and advancement in English language acquisition.

Create a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.

Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning.

Facilitate problem-solving, with a curious mind and critical thinking skills.Qualifications: Priority given to those either currently enrolled in or have completed a post-secondary degree in Education, and/or TESL/ TEFL Certificate.

Current and valid CPR and Emergency First Aid Certification would be an asset.

Bilingual in English and any other language would be an asset.

Experience working with children and youth ranging from 5 to 19 years old.

Experience working with beginner EAL learners (MB EAL curriculum LAL to stage 2)

Strong behaviour, group, and crisis management skills.

Knowledge and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion to work with young people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, abilities, and experiences.
