EAs support student learning in the classroom environment and other educational settings.These dynamic individuals support teachers and school teams in meeting the diverse learning needs of students. EAs are valuable members of a team which collaborates to promote student learning, well-being and success.Assignment and Term:
This position is a temporary part-time position of 5.5 hours/day in accordance with the Educational Assistant school calendar. The position commences November 6, 2024 and expires June 27, 2025 with the work schedule to be determined by the principal and student services. Rest periods will be scheduled in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement. The duties of an Educational Assistant are to: Work closely with students to meet their diverse learning goals.
Provide assistance to students with mobility needs and/or who require personal care.
Assist the classroom teacher to support learning with all students in the classroom.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all information pertaining to a child, classroom and the school.
Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designate and those listed in Job Description - Educational AssistantThe successful candidate will have the desired qualifications: Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
Acute attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility and the ability to work as a team member will be considered assets.Salary and Benefits: The successful candidate will be paid on a monthly basis at an hourly rate from $19.89 - $24.43 plus applicable vacation pay.
