Indigenous Cultural Enhancement Worker

TEMPORARY Full-time (September 2021 June 2022) - 35 hours/week.

The Burnaby School District is seeking a skilled, enthusiastic individual who enjoys challenges, seizes opportunities and wants to make a difference, to join our Indigenous Education team. The Indigenous Cultural Enhancement Worker, as part of the integrated educational team, assists in the planning, development and delivery of cultural programs to honour Indigenous students. Mentors and establishes connections with Indigenous youth and provides authentic school programming to strengthenlearning, sense of self and cultural identity.

Applicants must possess: Completion of grade 12 supplemented by post-secondary training up to six (6) months in duration.

One year of related experience with Indigenous youth in an educational setting.

Thorough understanding of Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Being.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
