Pay Band 4: $20.55 - $22.84 The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board is currently accepting applications for Casual Secretaries/Clerical support staff in ALL geographical areas of the Board. Successful candidates will receive training and be expected to be available to begin work right away.
While the role is casual with no guarantee of Full-Time work, we only recruit when there is a need and have a cap on the casual list to ensure those hired have work. When required, replacements for longer-term absences and permanent positions are hired from this casual list. Casual secretaries/clerical staff can be called to work in our schools as well as the Board Office/Education Centre. Once hired, all casual employees must be available to work a minimum of three (3) days per week , with a preference for being available all days. Work will be available in four geographical regions. Due to the large size of our Board, successful candidates are not expected to work in all geographical areas. Please note in your application the geographic area(s) in which you are applying to work: Western - Bowmanville/Courtice area
Southern - Port Hope/Cobourg area
Eastern - Brighton/Campbellford area
Northern - Peterborough area Qualifications/Requirements: Advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and database administration skills.
Six (6) months to One (1) year experience in an office environment. Additional work/volunteer experience in a school setting preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Clerical Assessment: Due to the nature of this role, before an interview is scheduled, you will be required to attend a clerical assessment and receive a score of "advanced" before proceeding to the interview.
References: full contact information for two references, one of whom must be your current supervisor will be requested at time of interview. A police records check, with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Pardoned Sexual Offenders Database Search ,dated within 6 months prior to the date of hire , is a requirement for employment with this Board. Please note that there have been reports that it has taken some candidates up to 6 weeks to obtain a police check. With that in mind, we strongly recommend that you go about obtaining this search at your earliest convenience.
